Description
The technology in the HiCATT expands the dynamic range of a high-speed camera. At low light-level input, even single photons can be detected. While at high light levels, overexposure is prevented by the use of very short gate pulses (down to 40ns), bringing down the duty cycle of the image intensifier up to 10,000 times. Moreover, these short exposures yield sharp images of fast moving objects.
Features
- For use in combination with Hi-Speed cameras operating at speeds up to 100.000 fps
- Wide selection of image intensifiers (see configurations)
- Up to 25mm output image diameter, matching with the larger high-speed image sensors.
- Standard C-mount or F-mount input and output.
Low Jitter Interface
With the Low Jitter Digital interface (HiCATT 25D), gain and gating of the image intensifier HiCATT can be controlled by software. The Low Jitter Digital interface also supplies the DC voltages for the HiCATT high-speed camera attachment and the gating electronics. When connecting a trigger output signal from an attached high-speed camera to the Low Jitter Digital interface, gating is synchronised with the exposure period and frame rate of the high-speed camera.
